Psychological Therapy Fees - Marie Dow

Reynella Family Care (RFC) is committed to providing a psychology service that is affordable to patients. The Australian Psychological Society (APS) recommends an hourly rate for psychological services of $300 (2023-2024 financial year). With the Medicare subsidy provided to eligible individuals this usually entails a gap payment of between $90 and $120. The Gap for psychology services at RFC for 2024 will be $45 for concession holders and $60 for non-concession holders. This gap fee is moderate and we hope-enables everyone to access psychology input.
We are registered with Medicare and rebates are available for eligible clients. To receive psychological services under a Medicare rebate, you must be referred by your GP (or Psychiatrist or Paediatrician).
Individuals with a Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GPS (or in some instances, Psychiatrists or Paediatricians) are able to receive a Medicare rebate. Eligible clients are entitled to up to 10 individual sessions with a psychologist per calendar year. You will need to have your Mental Health Treatment Plan before you come to the first session for your rebate to be processed. Your Medicare rebate will be processed electronically at the end of your consultation.
